Squirreling Away is a HTFF episode that introduces Hucky, the squirrel who acts like...a squirrel.
Plot[]
A couple of squirrels sit in a branch chittering to one another. Hucky shortly joins them, but the branch gives way and she falls to the ground. She hears some strange chittering coming from the other side of a fence. Curiously taking a peek, she finds a certain green squirrel eating chocolate-covered nuts, and she plans to take them for herself.
Switching to two legs, Hucky introduces herself to Nutty and asks to share some of his nuts, to which he declines. She resorts to pulling the candy apple off his head and carrying it in her mouth. She scampers away on all fours as Nutty pursues her.
Hucky climbs over a fence into somebody's backyard. She pauses upon seeing a large dog sleeping just inches in front of her. Ever so cautiously, she tries sneaking away. Unfortunately, Nutty makes his way into the yard and laughs, awakening the canine. Hucky escapes by climbing the nearest tree while Nutty is mauled viciously.
Hucky returns to the nuts that Nutty left laying on the sidewalk. Before she could reach them, a hapless Cub picks them up and hops them into his mouth, quickly succumbing to an allergic reaction. Pop rushes his swollen-faced son to get help.
Hucky climbs back up her tree to eat a stash of acorns she was saving. Much to her shock, she finds Nutty now gorging himself on her stash. Nutty fills his cheeks with several acorns and runs on his fours, having gone feral. Hucky chases him around the tree, both chittering as they do. They reach the top of the tree and tug over the last acorn. It drops out of their hands and tumbles all the way across a busy street.
After an exchange of glares, the two squirrels race each other to the acorn. Nutty leaps over Hucky, taking the lead until a car flattens him. Hucky reaches the other side, but before she could enjoy her acorn, she is encountered by a tiny chihuahua. Despite its size, she gets scared and runs back onto the road where she is hit by an ambulance.
The driver, Lumpy, steps out to check on her, poking her lifeless body with a stick. Pop is shown in the back of the ambulance, administering an epipen to Cub. Chewed-up mush begins squirting from his puffy lips.
