A New Kind of Odd is a HTFF episode.

Plot

Squag knocks on his sister's door, recieving no response. After several knocks, he busts the door open to discover that Oddity has wrapped herself in a cocoon. Squag tries in vain to wake her up. He then sighs and walks away.

Sometime later, Squag is shown unkempt, looking at an old photo of him and Oddity. He suddenly hears a strange sound coming from Oddity's room. Investigating, he sees that the cocoon is cracking. He waits in eager joy to see his sister again. Sure enough, Oddity emerges and Squag is amazed by her new form.

Oddity takes a look at herself in a mirror and loves what she sees. She is especially fond of her wings and goes outside to test them. She flaps her arms until her feathers are dry, at which point she finally lifts herself off the ground. She picks up Squag with her feet and takes him for a ride.

The mutant siblings enjoy their aerial tour, soaring through clouds and past flocks of birds. The scene shifts to a shadowed forest area, where Cryptie has lit a bonfire in hopes of attracting Mothman. He looks up to see Oddity in the sky and assumes he has found the creature in the flesh. He pursues the mutants, leaving the fire unattended until a passing Scout decides to roast marshmallows on it.

Once he is within range, Cryptie fires his dart gun. The dart hits Squag's middle eye, startling Oddity into letting him go. She realizes her error and swoops to save him. Cryptie fires another dart, but she manages to swerve in time. The dart hits a woodpecker, causing it to come down spinning rapidly. Its sharp beak pierces Cryptie through the head, killing him. Squag stretches his arm out as Oddity closes in. She grabs his hand, but his arm tears off. Squag splatters to pieces on the ground; only his head is left intact.

Oddity reassembles Squag's body using random objects. Squag tries to move his new vessel, but it quickly falls apart. Oddity picks up her brother's sighing head. Meanwhile next door, Raymond grieves over the apparent loss of Sunset, when a peculiar hand emerges through the ground, revealing to be Sunset in her new form. She reunites with Raymond, then offering a ride in the sky. The episode ends ambigiously with Raymond falling towards the ground.

Deaths

  1. Cryptie is pierced by a woodpecker's beak.
  2. Raymond possibly dies by falling (debatable).

Trivia

  • Oddity and Raymond debut with new designs.
  • The title is similar to An Odd Kind of Kind, which also stars Oddity.
