Characteristics and Biography

Derpsie is a periwinkle chinchilla who is mentally handicapped.

Derpsie has down syndrome, a genetic disorder associated with difficulty learning and trouble developing properly. As a result, she has ambolypia (lazy eyes), heterochromia, a lower than average IQ, trouble learning new things, difficulty paying attention, and trouble seeing and speaking. This is many reasons why tree friends call her retarded, harass her, call her names, or talk slow to her on purpose. When she speaks, it's usually either broken english or doesn't make much sense.

Since she has a lower than average IQ, it takes her a long time to learn and understand what's going on around her (e.g she would talk to a person who flipped out, talk to demonic spirits, etc). This can cause her deaths since it takes a while to understand what is happening. Derpsie would also make the same mistakes due to this.

Due to her derp-ish look, she is usually called Derpsie. This is actually a nickname, but her real name is unknown since she actually doesn't know her real name. The name Derpsie stuck with her.

However, despite her disabilities, she is a great friend since she is very sympathetic and rarely gets angry. She can also do math really well because of a special needs teacher she used to have.

Derpsie's best friend and brother figure is Flippy, whom she lives with. They both get along very well since they're both misunderstood individuals. Flippy defends her since she can't really defend herself.

Derpsie is a transgender, as you can see by her boyish appearance. She also talks in a slightly deep tone, similar to what a boy would do.

In her spare time, Derpsie enjoys pastries, especially brownies. She also loves listening to trance or calm electronica music.

For her personality, she is usually easily confused. She is very clumsy due to her eyes since she can't see properly. She also seems to be socially awkward, since she's almost always at the wrong place at the wrong time. Derpsie is very friendly and childish. When she realizes death is upon her, she would freak out and run around aimlessly.

She is often compared to Derpy from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and commonly used in fan art with her. This was noticed by the crew and a crossover wallpaper was made featuring the two.
- However, recent appearances has changed her so much that she is a little less like Derpy.
She is a pansexual.
She is around 13 years old.
Derpsie doesn't trust Lumpy and Nutty despite their similarities.
