'''True Brigandine''' (真・ブリガンダイン, ''Shin Burigandain'') is a shoot 'em up game conceptualized by [[User:InshouPhantom5X]]. Initially, 3 characters are available, but everyone can add a character and a respective ship to this game. It is succeeded by its sequel, ''[[True Brigandine: Duality]]''.

== Gameplay ==
True Brigandine utilizes the game elements from ''Salamander'', as well as ''Gradius'' and ''Thunder Force''. As mentioned, it is a cross between horizontal and vertical shump between stages and contains numerous hazards that you as a player can avoid. If you either collide with the terrain or hit by the enemy, you lose a life and if all your lives are lost it's game over. Initially you have 2 weapons that are upgradable and 3 are obtainable by collecting the respective power-ups, missile and shield included. A game mechanic is planned: Parts are by any means the only way for a weapon's maximum level to increase up to Level 5. Power-up capsules served as means of increasing its weapon power up to its maximum level. One feature is based on concepts from ''Salamander 2,'' ''Thunder Force V'', and ''Touhou Fujinroku/Chireiden'' (from sacrificing Options/CRAWS in exchange for a short burst of immense power). Burst orbs are collected as Multiples until they are used up and will recharge until it is ready again, and any burst orbs grabbed will replace those that are exhausted.

For the Smart Bomb mechanic: One (Two in higher difficulties) burst orb is required along with the rare bomb power-up in order to execute the devastating move depending on your character.

True Brigandine (真・ブリガンダイン, Shin Burigandain) is a shoot 'em up game conceptualized by User:InshouPhantom5X. Initially, 3 characters are available, but everyone can add a character and a respective ship to this game. It is succeeded by its sequel, True Brigandine: Duality.

Gameplay

True Brigandine utilizes the game elements from Salamander, as well as Gradius and Thunder Force. One feature is based on concepts from Salamander 2, Thunder Force V, and Touhou Fujinroku/Chireiden (from sacrificing Options/CRAWS in exchange for a short burst of immense power). For the Controlled Burst mechanic: Burst orbs are collected as Multiples until they are used up and will recharge until it is ready again, and any burst orbs grabbed will replace those that are exhausted. For the Smart Bomb mechanic: One (Two in higher difficulties) burst orb is required along with the rare bomb power-up in order to execute the devastating move depending on your character.

Power-Ups and Items

  • Cargo Arsenal Unit - The main power-up for your craft. It comes with 6 different colors that indicate the location of your weapon with the exception of Gray as it is mostly assisting you further. They are collected from the Mizo'uroko units.
    • Yellow (Front Shot) - Indicates the front weapon of your choice. Collect once and it will upgrade to a more powerful version.
    • Purple (Back Fire) - The back weapon that provides cover fire at 6 o'clock.
    • Red (Wide/All-Around) - Decimates enemies at a wide range. It also provides bullets all-around your craft.
    • Green (Strong) - Obliterates even the strongest enemy with its powerful weapon.
    • Blue (Homing) - The signature homing weapon. It targets enemies that are out of your range.
    • Gray (Missile) - It provides strong damage to the enemy, although the fire rate is significantly lower than the others. It cannot be selected, as it is an assisting weapon. You can lose it, however, upon death.
  • Burst Orbs - The support satellites for your craft. They can provide extra firepower, as well as utilize their Hyper Weapon in a controlled manner at a cost of draining their energy.
  • Force Field - Provides extra protection of your craft for 3 Hits before deactivating itself.
  • 1-Up - Provides an extra life to the player. They are often found hidden behind the stages.

Plot

Decades of diplomatic and technological breakthrough have brought the world at peace once again. Millions of lives are enjoying what seems to be the endless prosperity for all. It may seemed that everything is over for the greater good. An militant cultist faction, known as the Chains of Lucifer began to attack major cities one by one. Eventually they took over and rule most of the world with an iron fist. Not all is lost, however. The government has authorized emergency use of the HX prototypes to defend the remains of the free world, and then they formed a squadron known as the "True Brigandine".

The squadron consist of the most capable fighters they have left. Their mission is to defend the free world, infiltrate the enemy base, and destroy it from within.

Trivia

  • The plot of this concept is similar to Thunder Force V.
  • Plus this takes place 6 years into the future in Daiki's Timeline.
  • The RDSF1479 had the highest FTL speed in history. However, for gameplay purposes, it was toned down for other space fighters to catch up with it.
  • To access the Necrostellar Anti-Space, spatio-temporal anomalies from the Outerplain Pulsar Group must be detected and enter it.
  • To access hidden playable characters, you need to type in certain button commands to unlock them. They have neither have their own dialogue nor they are canon to the game.
  • The original Guide Laser hyper weapon is replaced with a more accurate Side Laser in this update.
